Nestled in the heart of Richmond, Virginia, The Fan District boasts some of the most enchanting Halloween celebrations, and Hanover Avenue takes the cake when it comes to spooky, spectacular fun. This year, our Hanover Avenue Halloween bash, right in the heart of The Fan, exceeded all expectations, with over 10,000 pieces of candy distributed (just at one house!) some incredibly themed homes, and the star of the show, our furry friend Beasley, who stole the spotlight as a buzzing bee. Some of the most popular costumes this year were Barbie, Harry Potter, Spiderman, Batman, Ted Lasso, and so many more!
A Sweet Treat Extravaganza in The Fan District
One of the most heartwarming aspects of Halloween on Hanover Avenue in The Fan District is the sense of togetherness. It's a neighborhood-wide effort to create a delightful experience for kids and families, and this year was no exception. The kids were on a Halloween mission to fill their bags with as much candy as possible, and they nailed it. It was an absolute candy bonanza as little witches, superheroes, and ghosts lined up to fill their bags with sweets. The joy in their eyes was priceless.

But what's Halloween without creative and fun decorations? Our neighbors really outdid themselves this year with incredible themed homes that transformed the street into a Halloween wonderland. One standout was the Mario Kart-themed house. They had life-sized Mario and Luigi greeting everyone in their front yard, while kids could "race" by collecting candy as they passed. It was an interactive experience that delighted kids and adults alike, bringing the beloved video game to life right in The Fan District on Hanover Avenue.
Enchanting Harry Potter Adventure in The Fan District
Just down the street, another house transported us into the magical world of Harry Potter. The ghastly photos of Professor Dumbledore and Harry Potter Graced the windows as everyone stared in awe at this magical land was brought to Richmond, VA. It was truly a spellbinding experience that left us all in awe.
Beasley, the Bee, and The Fan District's Darling
But perhaps the highlight of the evening was our beloved dog Beasley. Dressed as an adorable bee, he brought smiles and laughter to everyone he encountered. With his wagging tail and a costume that was the bee's knees, he was an instant hit. Kids and adults couldn't resist petting him, and he happily greeted every trick-or-treater with a wag of his stinger.
